Summer in the UAE has a reputation for heat, but it's also one of the best times to explore places that are quieter, cooler, and easier to enjoy without the winter crowds. Whether you're a resident or planning a visit, here are five beautiful spots worth the trip this season.

Jebel Jais, Ras Al Khaimah

The UAE's highest peak stays noticeably cooler than the coast, especially in the early morning. Ride the world's longest zipline, hike a shaded trail, or enjoy the mountain views from a cafe along the road.

Al Wathba Fossil Dunes, Abu Dhabi

These wind-carved limestone dunes look otherworldly, especially at sunrise before the heat sets in. It's a short drive from the city and one of the more unusual landscapes in the Emirates.

Al Ain Oasis

A UNESCO World Heritage site with shaded palm groves and centuries-old falaj irrigation channels still running through it. The dense canopy keeps it noticeably cooler than the surrounding city, making it one of the more pleasant summer walks in the UAE.

Snoopy Island, Fujairah

On the East Coast, this small rock formation off Al Aqah beach is one of the UAE's best snorkeling spots. Warm, calm water in summer makes it easy to see coral and reef fish just a short swim from shore.

Hatta

Tucked in the Hajar Mountains about 90 minutes from Dubai, Hatta offers a noticeably cooler climate, the turquoise Hatta Dam lake for kayaking, and mountain biking trails. It's an easy day trip that feels far removed from the city.

Summer doesn't have to mean staying indoors. Plan around the early morning or evening hours, bring plenty of water, and these five spots make for a great long weekend around the Emirates.
